Anyone remember that Water For Haiti Logo I made? Well click on that link and you'll find images from the event. They printed it on water bottles and even spray painted it on the ground. Sweet.
Here it is in case you missed it the first time:

Also, here's a portrait I drew of myself a few months ago when I was scared about going to the dentist:

Continuous Line Drawings At The Whig
I drew this one on Taco Tuesday. My friends Jason and Zach are in it.

This is my bud Gerald drawing at the whig while I'm drawing him.

oh hai.
so blogger... its been a while. I'm uuuuh...sorry?
Anyways, while I was gone, I was able to secure a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina. Here's the Announcement I designed and sent out:

In addition, I've started an internship at a local architecture firm called GMK where I do a little design work. I'm also unfortunately still working at miyos...although it's got its benefits. Here's a part of my tip from a student who came in for dinner last night:

I like the back better:

I would probably be the only person there who actually likes this as a tip. It's a pretty cool design. (nerd alert) Speaking of cool asian design, we also have these awesome black tea packets that come in little cubes that you unravel. It tastes ok but it looks cool:

...well that's all for today. I'm gonna try and limit myself as much as possible with the length of my posts. I didn't do a very good job here but I'm workin on it. Stay tuned for continuous line drawings from my old sketchbook. They're totally horrible but you'll love em! haha

Haiti
I'm so bad at updating my blog. sorry. Here's a poster i recently made for the Haiti Poster Project. It was a quick (as in week-long) class assignment and Sara from the Half and Half, who is currently filling in for stephanie, chose one poster to actually screen print and donate to the project. They chose mine! I'm really excited about printing it. I'm going today to mix the ink!

I am also designing a logo for some students who are organizing a bike ride to raise money for getting clean water to haitians. There will also be a walk, which I am working on a similar logo for. It's still somewhat in flux, but this is basically what the final will look like.

New Years Resolutions
It's a new year so here's a manifesto for what I plan to do this year
(mainly for my personal records):
I WILL
Be more organized BY using a calendar/notebook, keeping a clean room, etcBe more creative BY drawing often, taking more photos, designing more, finding freelance work, etc
Be more health conscious BY going to the gym once a week, eating healthier, consuming less sugary stuff, etc
Save $100 a month
Get a bike
Get a tattoo
Get a stereo system for my record player
Give friends their stuff back on a holiday which I will create called National Give Friends Their Stuff Back Day
Quit using neutraface as a crutch cold turkey
Quit cussing BY successfully replacing cuss words with the word cuss
Make music with friends It's a little known fact that I can play guitar and sing. I'd like to share that this year.
Make a website for my senior project
Be more driven to successfully accomplish these goals

I'M FINISHED WITH EVERYTHING NOW! FINALLY!
So I can start to get back to my life again.
Here's what I've been doing lately...
Did I ever mention that I won 3 Inshow Awards?!?! Its a local design competition for designers from
South Carolina.

I won in the student category for these things:

History of Neutraface from Kevin Archie on Vimeo.
Gerald Andal, Mckenna Kemp and Jason Richburg all won in the student category as well. Check out their stuff if you can. They're all very talented!

I suppose that's enough for right now. I'll start updating this blog again on a regular basis now. Sorry for the retarded delay. Have a nice day!

A zine created for Time and Sequence based on our own manifesto's on design. Mine is rather
random, but I like how it turned out.
Here's a stop motion animation for Time and Sequence – We were assigned
a magazine (mine was GQ) and we had to make haikus from random words
we cut out of the magazine. The final product is 5 animations with only
type, 2 with only images, and 3 with a combination of type and image.

An invitation I designed for a christmas party
(that I actually printed and will send in real mail...or at least that's the idea).

abandonment
Hey imaginary blog followers. Long time no update right? Yea...well life has been hectic. College is hard. A few weeks ago I had to go to Tennessee for my grandmothers funeral so that put me a week behind in school which made everything else even harder to accomplish. Thus my blog has fallen to the side. I'm still a week or more behind in my work, but I figured I'd at least let people know I'm trying to get back to it, if anyone cares. Here's some stuff I've been doing for each of my classes...
4 (out of about 12) film images from my photography portfolio class-all from the same series. They were printed in the dark room, then I scanned the actual photos.

some stuff i've been working on for my graphic design portfolio class

Vinyl album Cover for Grizzly Bear's "Horn of Plenty." Photos taken in Tennessee.
The original darfur poster i made and a newer possible rendition of it.
Elements from my zine for Time and Sequence about my personal design manifesto.
